Metro Vancouver announces 2023 Board

The 2023 Metro Vancouver Board has been announced with the Township of Langley being appointed 14 board positions including Mayor Eric Woodward as the Chair of the Regional Planning Committee and Councillor Steve Ferguson as the Vice Chair of the Indigenous Relations Committee.
The complete listing of appointments are as follows:
- Climate Action Committee: Mayor Eric Woodward
- Electoral Area Committee: Councillor Steve Ferguson
- Finance Committee: Mayor Eric Woodward
- Financial Plan Task Force: Mayor Eric Woodward
- Flood Resiliency Committee: Councillor Steve Ferguson
- George Massey Crossing Task Force: Councillor Barb Martens
- Housing Committee: Mayor Eric Woodward
- Indigenous Relations Committee: Councillor Steve Ferguson (Vice Chair)
- Liquid Waste Committee: Councillor Steve Ferguson
- Mayors Committee: Mayor Eric Woodward
- Regional Parks Committee: Councillor Barb Martens
- Regional Planning Committee: Mayor Eric Woodward (Chair)
- Water Committee: Councillor Misty vanPopta
- Zero Waste Committee: Councillor Steve Ferguson
The number of directors appointed to the board depends on the population of the Municipality, Electoral Area, or First Nation.
“The Township of Langley was projected to have 10 appointments but has been granted 14,” said Mayor Eric Woodward.
“We are honoured to have these committee appointments and look forward to working with other committee members to address important items for both the Township of Langley and the region as a whole”.
